    For most Louisiana motorists, identification card renewal is a simple 5-step process:

    Step 1 Enter Renewal Information and Confirm Record
    Step 2 View Fee Breakdown
    Step 3 Authorize Payment of Fee
    Step 4 View and Print Receipt
    Step 5 Provide Feedback (optional)
    • The following items are required to renew your identification card:
      • Computer generated mail-in renewal invitation
      • Your photo Louisiana identification card which you have in your possession.
      • Valid credit card backed by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express.

    • You must use Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher OR Netscape 4.73 or higher to successfully complete your transaction.
       
    • Your identification card renewal will include a State Charge for electronic commerce in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statute 49:316.1.
       
    • Changes in personal information, including address, are not allowed by using the Internet, telephone, or mail-in method of renewal.  If you require any changes, you must visit your local Office of Motor Vehicles for issuance of a new identification card.
